Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora or sometimes stylized with uppercase letters as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the record label Decca Records in May 2015 receiving great approval from music bloggers and the media. She has previously released two top-of-the-line covers Half the World Away by the band Oasis in a commercial for Christmas by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Her name was also recognized from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Honor her special birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering the piano she had in her attic and becoming enthralled by the sound it could produce. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music not to get work or as an interest, but as a way to improve. She began to write writing her own songs. She points to renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as inspirations, and also an inclination to Bjork's style. When her mother told her that her songs could be a catalyst for her to gain not only fame but also help people see the importance of their music to the world and appreciate the possibilities for the songs, she decided to perform in public. Her first piano lesson was when she was just six and began writing music at the age of nine. It was not until she turned 14 that she told her parents. Aurora is not something she set out to achieve. Aurora says that she likes to compose songs. She says that music is her favourite way to express her feelings about anything.
